Mistakes were made

From a post I sent out after an MRI in March, just over a year ago:

So, new MRI and the news is bad. The tumor is growing and the cancer is spreading. Additional chemo is out because of Randy’s compromised immune system, so there’s not much left. There’s an off-label drug trial - a transfusion that could possibly slow the growth, but it’s kind of a Hail Mary. The average life span at this point is 8-10 months. We’re working with the palliative care team to try to manage the leg pain so that we can do things. If we can get the pain under control we can still have some good times as we roll downhill.

Three weeks later he was dead.
