Always something there to remind me

Terrible photo - I couldn’t get close and the barn is dark. There are three goats there, looking out at us the way we were looking in at them. Except they were less interested.

While I was visiting Kendall on the east coast we went to visit botanical gardens in Providence (I think). Beautiful plants and flowers and fountains. The weather was good and the place was small enough that we couldn’t get lost. We had been told there were goats and we wandered around looking for them, wondering why they would include goats in a botanical garden. Eventually we smelled them, followed our noses, and found them in a pen with a tiny barn inside.

Randy and I really liked goats and we used to visit them in a 4H area next to a school, encouraging them to come up to the fence so we could talk to them. These goats showed no interest in coming out of their barn, but I took a picture, sorry that I wouldn’t be able to show it to Randy.

The signs on the barn list the names of the goats - one of them is Vincent Van Goat, a joke I would have shared with Randy because Van Gough was his favorite painter back when Randy was in his impressionist phase of painting.

And I was reminded how seldom I can go anywhere and not find something that reminds me of Randy - he is everywhere in my life.
